The Michaelmas daisy grows with many sturdy stems that remain upright. The leaves are lance-shaped and slightly serrated. It is one of the 50 fundamental Chinese herbs.
In the Japanese language of flowers, the flower of the Michaelmas daisy means: 'I will not forget you'.
