It is a native plant to China, where this powerful herb has been recommended in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2,000 years.
What is a hydrolate?
Hydrolates (or plant waters) contain a wealth of plant ingredients.
By means of steam, essential oil and hydrolate are extracted from the plant. During the distillation process, a water vapour is created with all the soluble components of the plant. When the water vapour has cooled and been collected, the distillation water consists of two parts. The largest part of the essential oil (fat-soluble) does not combine with the water and remains floating. The rest of the water is then the hydrolate (water part). The essential oil is skimmed off. What remains is the hydrolate.
Hydrolates are particularly suitable for sensitive people who cannot tolerate alcohol, for example, the elderly, pregnant women and children.
Due to current legislation and its status as 'Novel Food' we are limited in providing information on the uses of this herb.
Our hydrolate is easy to use thanks to the cap with sprayer.
