Latin name: Uncaria Tomentosa. In the Netherlands also known as Cat's Claw. Others also know the plant as Samento.

Cat's Claw is a creeping and climbing plant that grows in the Amazon rainforest in Central and South America. With her thorns, which remind you of cat claws, she can cling to the gigantic forest trees.

The local Indian population has been using the root and inner bark of the plant as a natural remedy for centuries. The roots contain the most active substances and powers. It is worrying that irresponsible overexploitation of the plant is taking place in large parts of South America. In Peru, for example, the harvesting of roots is therefore prohibited and the bark is harvested instead.

Since the 20th century, this herb has also been highlighted in the West and many scientific studies have been conducted. Cat's Claw is also one of the basic herbs in both the Cowden or Buhner protocols.

Dosage and use

Usage

You can take the drops as is, or in a glass of water, half an hour before a meal. If you leave it for a while, the alcohol evaporates but the active substances are retained. Keep the liquid in your mouth for a while (preferably a minute) before swallowing; the ingredients come into contact with the oral mucosa and are immediately absorbed into the bloodstream.

Dosage

Always start with a low dose. The more severe the symptoms, the lower the starting dose. This is to prevent a lot of toxins from being released at once (due to the death of germs). Because toxins are always released (even at low doses), it is advisable to drink a lot of water during the treatment and to use detoxification and elimination agents at the same time. Spread the dosage over a week.

Light: Build up to 20 drops per day.
Divide the daily dose 2 or 3 times a day, half an hour before meals.

Average: Build up to 40 to 45 drops per day. Divide the daily dose 2 or 3 times a day, half an hour before meals.

Intensive: Build up to 60 drops per day. Divide the daily dose 2 or 3 times a day, half an hour before meals.

Dosage for non-Lyme conditions 30, 60, 90 drops per day respectively.
